Going back to look across a life full of high notes as well as the lows, both sides of the page are full of reflection that can be taken at face value. But (more) seriously this is a story of how the simple things are the most important when it comes to a successful life, irrespective of fame and money. Very honest, personal and frank, Collins' love of music and family dances out of every page, to this I will testify.

Enjoyable read, albeit a little too long. Not only is Phil Collins extremely talented, he is also incredibly hardworking and dedicated to his craft. It was interesting learning about his life and career.

3.5 stars based on the writing and storytelling, which have their flaws. Content itself was fine!

Yes, it took me *7 months* to finish this book. It takes me 7 days, even 7 hours sometimes, to finish books. Not 7 months. I just picked at this one in between other books, as it wasn't a loan or priority to return to a friend.

It was fine. Really, it was. Lots of nostalgia, lots of sadness, lots of... things I feel that an editor could have told ol' Phil to leave out, and we'd still have gotten the gist. Maybe that's what took me so long to finish? Who knows.

I love Genesis, and my favourite part of the book was hearing about the band, its formation and its incredible music. Phil Collins is absolutely the most talented person to walk the planet and to have so much success in his career. I'm not sure he learned his lessons, and I'm certainly not sure he is very apologetic. The book was a bit dry, but interestingly enough reading and stopping to listen to the songs mentioned was great fun. A bit of a run on, didn't need to be that long, and a little woe is me.

Still one of my favourite artists of all time. Just a little disappointed in his personal story.
