I didn't like certain parts of the book, but overall it's a good read.

There were tons of moments where I left the book because of some non emotional related hard moments to read, and it made it difficult to read the book. I definitely loved the cover art of it. It felt like being ill was kinda just thrown in to make this book have some sort of direction, didn't feel very strong to me.

Before I begin, I want to say that I will not be commenting on how accurate the portrayal of Cystic Fibrosis is in this book, as I have no experience with it and I have no idea if this was an accurate representation of CF. All I will say is that it is the only book I have read that focuses on CF and I feel that there should be more books that do this in order to make people aware of CF and the challenge people who have it go through.
I thought the romance element of this book was really cute. It wasn't instant love and it developed nicely. It was clear they both affected each other and helped each other grow as people. My favourite character by far was Poe. I do wish he was in the book more because I really liked his personality and how even though he wasn't the main focus he still had detailed character development. His death made me cry so much, it was tragic that it happened right before he and his boyfriend were working things out. The book flew by and the last portion of the book felt so high stake, especially with the dramatic irony. The fact that both Stella and the reader knew about the new lungs but Will didn't that made everything more meaningful. I did feel that the subplot of Abby's death was kinda shoehorned in, and I had completely forgotten about it by the time Stella was going into surgery. I wouldn't have missed Abby's story if it wasn't there. It did serve as character motivation for Stella, and it was interesting to watch her go through survivor's guilt. Overall it was a great romance that shed a light on what it's like living with CF.

I watched the movie before I read the book and I have to admit I prefer the book's ending. Had I never read the book I would say the movie's ending was good.

That being said I already had an idea of what I was getting into while reading the book yet it still surprises me. Stella's survivors guilt throughout the book was something that stood out. It wasn't something that was mentioned and brushed off but instead something that impacted almost every decision Stella made throughout the book.

Another thing I'd like to mention is a spoiler so here it goes.
The fact that Stella and Will's way of thinking switched towards the end of the book was well played. Stella no longer wanting the extra time new lungs would give her and Will wanting even more time. It was a nice dynamic that I noticed.
