I watched the movie before I read the book and I have to admit I prefer the book's ending. Had I never read the book I would say the movie's ending was good.
That being said I already had an idea of what I was getting into while reading the book yet it still surprises me. Stella's survivors guilt throughout the book was something that stood out. It wasn't something that was mentioned and brushed off but instead something that impacted almost every decision Stella made throughout the book.
Another thing I'd like to mention is a spoiler so here it goes. The fact that Stella and Will's way of thinking switched towards the end of the book was well played. Stella no longer wanting the extra time new lungs would give her and Will wanting even more time. It was a nice dynamic that I noticed.
