We can always depend on Staci Hart to write heroines that we'll absolutely love and relate to on so many levels!
Everyone, The Red Lipstick Coalition has returned and they're coming in hot and fierce! To be honest, I'd be more than happy to just have an entire about surrounding this amazing and beautiful girl tribe. I want them in my life forever and it's one thing that I absolutely can't wait for when it comes to this series. They're seriously the best group of gals to ALWAYS have on your side!
Besides the epic love story that we get, these stories will send a message and empower you in some sort of way. To love yourself for being exactly who you are. Who cares what anyone thinks of you … I could share several words with people who have something bad to say about me. But you know, gotta take the high road sometimes. Other than that, you will absolutely be inspired by this!
Okay, the loveeeeee. I'll be honest and say I was a bit nervous about Sam, anything with a bet never ends well. And despite his growing feelings towards Val, I just wanted to punch him and yell , "tell Val the truth". A player was the perfect word to describe with his charms and looks. It's so easy to see why anyone would fall for him. But he also was a genuinely nice guy! I loved how he treated Val and was constantly supporting her.
Val totally made this book for me! Like I mentioned early, she's a character we can all relate to. She's just so pure and has a heart of gold. It's okay to be totally fierce and badass, and also have insecurities. It makes us human. I think we all can see a little bit of ourselves in Val.
I really enjoyed the music and dancing elements that Staci brought into this book. It made everything so much more lively. I am an orchestra nerd, so I get super excited whenever I read a book that has this in it.
Absolutely enjoyed this read! Can't wait for the next one in this amazing series!

5 JUST ONCE CROWNS
SIGH...I’m in love, completely captivated by Sam and Val and their romance. I was swept away by it all. Every word. Every moment. It is perfection.
Sam is unlike any hero I have encountered in such a long time. There are so many qualities about him to love: his passion for any and all music, his authentic love of everything that is Val, his ownership of his identity and future. He is completely charming and charismatic, but what I love about him most of all is his goal to get Val to love herself and see herself as he sees her. His devotion to achieving this goal and bringing her out of her shell made me fall in love with this man page by page. Gah. I just love him.
Val and the RLC is the reason this is now my favorite Staci Hart series (all standalones). I see myself in these woman. Their insecurities, particularly Val, resonate with me. Val’s insecurities with her bodies and her nervousness around men spoke to me. I loved more than anything watching her come out of her shell, watching her become bolder, and evolve into a stronger version of herself. Seeing how she changes comes to know her own worth separate from that of Man is empowering. Every moment with these ladies makes me stronger, better, just prouder to be a woman. I love them all so much, Val in particular.
This story wasn’t what I was expecting. I was fully prepared for a book version of She’s All That (romcom movie) and Val screaming, “Am I bet? Am I a freaking bet?” Player, though, is more than this. The reason behind the bet is deeper and more meaningful than just winning. Sam’s desire to protect her and keep her safe enticing. Watching these two fall in love is pure joy. I loved to see them connect through music. I love that he grows as much as she does. Their relationship is what it should be, endless support and devotion, finding joy in the everyday and where passions lie, and loving every part of a person without judgment. This is what romances should be.
Staci Hart is without a doubt a must read author, but this series is about empowering woman, finding your tribe, and taking on the world. It is about finding a man who supports his woman and loves every perceived flaw and dimple because of them not inspire of them. This is what love should be.

The plot was great if not a little predictable. There was just one part where he mentioned she wasn’t like other girl which really irritated me but thankfully it wasn’t as such in the rest of the book

“Tonight called for red lipstick and victory rolls”
“In Sam’s arms, things like physics and gravity no longer existed. I didn’t need to do anything but trust him as he spun me away, my arm flying out in a mirror of his.”
“Love is music. It’s learning when to be loud and when to be soft. It’s riding the scales up and down. Learning the curves ans strings to play the song of your heart. You have to know when to lead and when to follow. When you’re wrong and when you’re right. Love is music, hijo mio. It’s the greatest music there is.”
I don’t know about you guys, but I have been waiting rather impatiently for a new romance from Staci Hart. So, when I heard that Player would be releasing soon, I was over the moon. I was so excited and couldn’t wait to see what this author had in store for her readers in this new romantic comedy.
Player hooked me right away. It had a very She’s All That vibe going for it. A bet between friends that turns into lessons in love and romance….I mean how can you go wrong. You know this book is going to take you on one heck of a ride and all you can do is sit back, relax and hold on….
You may think you have heard this story before or that you know what’s going to happen, but I promise you that you haven’t met characters like Val or Sam. The chemistry and tension between these two is just scorching. I mean, I literally could not get enough of these two. They entertained me with their humor and banter. They made me swoon and fall in love with their imperfections. They made me see beauty in places I may not have seen it before. They kept me breathless in anticipation and left me begging for more. Sure these two characters couldn’t be more opposite. Val was curvy and shy with a mouth that lacks filter. And Sam is the player. The guy who knows he’s all that and a bag of chips. He has the best confidence and his heart is always in the right place. So, while at first glance, these two shouldn’t have worked, they totally did. They balanced each other and brought out the best in one another. Their friendship was fantastic and every girl should have a guy look at her the way that Sam looked at Val—some seriously swoon worthy stuff there!
The road to happily ever after wasn’t an easy one for Sam and Val. You had to know they wouldn’t be able to just ride off into the sunset. Their story had just the right amount of angst, drama and fight. I loved watching Sam and Val figure things out. And I loved watching Sam fight for his happily ever after.
Player was a fabulous read from begging to end. I love, love, loved getting wrapped up in Sam & Val’s story. These two captivated my mind and captured my heart. I loved getting lost between the pages and seeing how Sam & Val’s story would play out. From an entertaining story-line to fantastic characters to a fake relationship and lessons in love. To angsty moments and moments that made you swoon. To moments that frustrated you and left you aching for more. Player hit all the marks for me and was a fun story to spend my day getting lost in.

I've only read a few of Staci Hart's books and I can't wait to dive in for more. I really resonated with Val. I'm a bigger girl who is in love with music, so I was a fiber from the beginning. This story really reminded me of one of my all time favorites- bigger girl asks for help from stud, turns into friends to lovers, and has all the feels. I love dual POV so that we can see just how Sam is feeling towards Val. Can't wait to finish the series!

Hands down loved it! Loved everything about it. Val is a badass trumpet player...sold. Sam is a totally hot music prodigy....sold again. These two are so magical together. Gah this one had my black heart beating swooning love stuff. Totally checked out that Pinterest board too. Holy hotness. Nice visuals of Sam. What a great book in the series. I loved the first one, but these two so far are my favorite.
I can’t wait for the next book. That little sneak peak was amazing. Those two are going to be so much fun!

Pretty damn adorable. I like that the MC's are both POC and while their family backgrounds inform who they are, the fact that they're Latina and Lebanese respectively isn't in any way a defining characteristic of their actual relationship. I love the swing dancing, I love the fact that Val is a professional trumpet player (no stereotypically girly flute or clarinet for this one), I love that Sam is so unapologetically smitten with her, and yet I hate that we fall into the trope of fake dating for... what is a fairly negligible and convoluted reason.
Really sweet overall.

4 1/2 stars Finally a musician who is not a freaking rock star! I loved that Sam played the bass and practically ever instrument. Wicked orchestra member loved that tidbit. Val with her cheesy pick up lines and red lipstick. I loved them
The characters had great depth and emotions. Their insecurities were embraced and shown to all to be worked through. I can't wait to read more about this world Hart has built.

Oh how I love these 4 girls. I am jealous of their "girl squad".
I kinda love this story. I love love love how Sam was trying so hard to instill confidence into Val. I love how he saw her and how he told her how he saw her. I knew Ian would fuck it up, I was hoping he wouldn't, I was hoping Sam would have told her first, but then we wouldn't have the arc. So.....
I so want Kathrine to be gay, but the epilogue screwed that up. I can't wait for the other two stories, I would have liked more Rin and Court in this one as well. It almost makes me want to go re-read their story to see how Sam and Val intersect if at all within their story.
The scene where the girls talk about blowjobs was so funny I was hiccuping from laughing so hard. Then I had to read the scene to my husband b/c he was wondering what had me in such a fit.
