This was cute, but there were points when the sex overtook the story. The audible narration was good, and I will continue on with the series. However, if I hadn't already bought the series on Chirp, I'm not sure that I would continue on.

Possible my favorite of the Red Lipstick Coalition series! All the heart eyes for Val and Sam!

This book is witty and made me giggle at many points in the story because of the puns. I love puns.

Well, this one was way better than the story of Rin, with which I had a lot of problems, but it didn’t convince me completely. The plot was fun, I like the pretending relationship evolving into the real one, but Val was too flat as a character and Sam was way too superficial. Thank good they changed in the end, but in the beginning I couldn’t really stand them…

I was so happy to have Val's story and I adored it! Val was an outgoing curvy girl and I couldn't wait to read about her.

Once again, my favorite thing about this series of standalone is this group of friends. These four girls are a group of friends that I wish I had. They were always there for each other and were always supportive. Let me also not forget to mention the diversity again. We had Val who was a Latina and Sam who was Lebanese.

Val's struggles are a subject that hit home for me. I'm also a bigger girl who had and still has issues with confidence and weight. I think Staci did a job at portraying that through Val's character. However, I didn't like the way she idolized Sam and was happy when he called her on it. He was just an average guy. Was he attractive? Yes, but that doesn't mean that you have to hold him to this pedestal of being amazing.

Can I say that Sam is somebody that I wish met in my early twenties? Even though he was a "player", he never played Val. his feelings were true and I loved how he never failed to tell her she was beautiful.

"You call them flaws. I call it a signature. Because there is no one like you, not in the whole world. And I will love every curse until you realize you love them, too."

Yes, the bet issue was a bad call, but his heart was in the right place. All he ever wanted was to do right by Val and show her that she was worth anything she wanted in the world. It was hard not to swoon over him.

"The girls you idolize and idealize and compare yourself to so very rarely interest me. But you interest me. I just hope one day you'll believe me when I say it."

Val and Sam together had some MAJOR chemistry from the beginning! Reading about Val becoming more comfortable with her body and her willingness to show everything to Sam made my heart so happy.

Overall, I enjoyed this standalone and I can't wait for the next book, Work in Progress. It's Amelia's story and as of the day I'm typing this, it comes out in two days. Just know that as soon as I get some free time I'm binging it!

This was super cute and so funny!! The dialogue was so natural that Val and I would have the exact same reaction and response to things as I listen in my car. It was hilarious. And as a bigger girl myself this was a joy to read.

Val was one of the bravest characters to follow, I found so many similarities between me and her that this book really touched me emotional. She is brave enough to lover herself and her body but it takes work and as someone who is going through this same journey, she inspired me. She is complexly beautiful and I can’t tell you how much I love her.

Sam is a player but not in the sense that everyone thinks. He is straight up and people know what they are getting into. What I loved about him was that he actually cared about Val, not only did he love her but he had a friendship with her and loved her for her. He didn’t get annoyed when she was insecure, he helped her through it and just showed her how much she meant to him. I wish I could find my very own Sam.

The family dynamics were great and I loved the friendship between the girls. The friendship between the girls is very much a highlight of the series.

Over all this book had me feeling all the emotions and it’s a perfect addition to the series.
