Enjoyed this well-written, fascinating and surprisingly witty memoir about a journalist becoming blind. (He prefers that to “losing his sight.”) My library book group chose this memoir, and I was glad to step outside my usual genres. Lots of food for thought & pointed reflections on ableism. Recommend it.

Such a great reflection on blindness specifically but differing abilities in general. We all want to believe we aren’t ableist but if we are fully abled then we inherently are and seeing a person’s realization of that while going/being blind was touching.

Solid read. A look at difference and how the world could be better equipped to handle them.
