A plea to “set foot a new man”, a resonating plea. Fanon’s critique of the native bourgeoisie and warning against neocolonialism remain strikingly relevant to this day.
Of course much more to take away…. Don’t [redacted] me.

3rd time I've read it and frankly it becomes more clear every time. Its timeless cause we haven't left the conditions Fanon speaks on. Grateful for this text.

My only recommendation (re: this edition at least)--don't read the foreword or preface until AFTER reading the text.
Both seem designed to obscure & show off to other academics, as opposed to inform, unlike Fanon's writing itself.
This book is a very calm, determined & clarifying analysis and that I will chew on for a long long time.
It's not as dated as it "should" be so it's as relevant as ever.

Bit heavy on the prose, bit preachy in a traditionally Marxist way, but indispensable reading for anyone who wants to look into the Algerian civil war or decolonisation in general.
