Cuckoo by Callie Kazumi
3.0
the hook of the mystery is enough to get you into the book, even though the twist is pretty guessable almost immediately. i dont know, the book just made me sad.
i do feel like the constant references back to her childhood become tiresome - it might be stylistic to show how she’s ‘fractured’ or harmed by the things that happened in her childhood, with both her mum and her peers, but it doesn’t make for the best time reading.
it was fine, decently written, however i would’ve dnf’d this book at around 50% through if i wasn’t reviewing it.
this book was given as an Arc via NetGalley
