This absolutely had the potential to be one of the longer graphic novel epics with its combo of horror and Greek mythology. What you get is fine for a condensed story, I just would’ve preferred more.

Definitely glad I audiobooked this one. A rec for gothic horror lovers, but otherwise you’ll probably have a better time with a film adaptation.

I legit forgot that this is meant to be for children because the overall story was fantastic. This really made me feel closer to my Pinoy heritage, and I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series!

This had everything that I love in a comic (superpowered individuals, political messaging, romance) and this was definitely better than I was expecting it to be. My only woe is that I wish that the artwork was in color purely because it would’ve really brought a lot of big scenes to life.

Thought this was going to be the final book in the series, but looks like we'll have to get the ending in 2025. Definitely more from Rawl's perspective (not a bad thing, but a little misleading considering the title). I DID really enjoy seeing the different aspects of the world apart from Danray and I absolutely cannot wait for our final battle in book 4!

The writing itself was not my cup of tea (I have this problem a lot with classics unfortunately), but I will say that the reason that this book is important that this book exists for the lgbtq community is because it nonchalantly shows just how not a big of a deal queerness should be (especially in modern society for fucks sake).

You know what? I actually really enjoyed this book! Very much felt like a movie since it has a full cast for narration, and it was plain fun! If you like camp-y and humorous horror then you’re going to really like this one!

The entire plot wouldn't even have existed if our lead character just left her fiancé.

Like, I understand that it's completely unfair to judge an author based on a short story but this was just an ok retelling of 'The Gift of the Magi.' I'm gonna give a full-length work a chance, but so far I'm feeling like TikTok is leading me astray with the popularity of this author.
