While I loved Gravity Falls, and parts of the book do live up to its prescribed older audience, most of it is really juvenile.

The writing wasn't that great and it was boring. Additionally, as a result of the times there was a strict patriarchal social structure that was a bit grating.

There was supernatural aspects that were interesting, but there was very dark themes I didn't enjoy like rape and abject poverty. It also wasn't the most coherent.

Didn't like the writing. Didn't like the narrator and how she presents herself. Didn't like how self-important she sounded.

Really sad, which I’m not into. The mom dies, the main character dies, there’s a lot of awful themes explored like exploitation in the entertainment industry.

Bad writing, don't care for characters. Main character is crass and pessimistic.
