After finishing this book, I'm starting to see why this is such a popular series. The addition of Cress’s  POV added to much to the story and I felt like I finally could enjoy the plot rather than being so confused by the world building now that I sort of know the writing style and the characters more. With that being said, I think this book does so many things right that I find other books fall short. This series has one of the best formulas for multiple points of view that I have ever read. The chapters are short enough that I don’t get bored quickly and the characters are extremely likable and all so different that each one is interesting to read about. I also really like that the chapters aren’t labeled for which character it’s about so I don’t find myself getting distracted wanting to know when my favorite character will come up again, which means every so often you have a couple chapters in a row from the same POV that it gets rid of the big cliff hangers when switching back that many other books have. One huge plus for me about this book is that it stayed away from the “right place, wrong time” trope that I see when characters are trying to meet up again after being separated. There were so many chances that could have happened here but it never did which is a huge part of why I rated it much higher.

This easily could have been a 5 star read for me but I can’t ignore all the questions the first 2 books left me with. While a few of my curiosities were satisfied with this story, I still wish I knew more about the androids and the war that is talked about so much in this series, and I don’t think I’ll be getting that with the next book that follows this one either. I also found myself wishing for a chapter or two from Wolf’s POV, especially after what happened with Scarlet right in the beginning. I think it would have been so interesting to know what he was thinking through that situation and it would have given the opportunity for more information on his past and his emotions, aside from what we learned in Scarlet.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book and I can’t wait to read about Winter in the next one. I love how you get a taste of her story in the books prior, just like with Cress in the first book, and I already find her so interesting. All in all, I will definitely be finishing this series and I may even be motivated to read the short stories that were also written for this series.

While I did enjoy this book more than the first one, I still feel like it was missing something. The characters are extremely interesting and the addition of Thorn, Wolf, and Scarlet kept me entertained through the whole story. While  I did enjoy the direction of the plot in this book  compared to the first in the series, I'm still feeling like the world building is lacking. I would have loved this book so much more if there were more details on the history and technological advancements of the earth since it set in the future. I wish I  knew more about the androids and how the medical field advanced enough to support the creation of cyborgs. I also feel like there could have been more information on the wars and the people on Luna.

I still find myself unsure of whether or not I want to continue this series. If I do it will only be to see everything wraps up, I love the characters and the plot but I just wish I didn't have so many question. It is a fantastic series and it is probably a good choice for others, it just might not be for me.

I liked this book but I didn't love it. I found the world itself to be incredibly interesting and the characters are very loveable but the plot was predictable and I felt like I knew everything that was going to happen well in advance. I almost DNFed but continued hoping it would surprise me but it never did.

As previously stated, the characters and the world building are complex and interesting so that redeems it a bit for me. The world itself is set in a sort of post-apocalyptic society taking place on Earth after the 4th world War. The technological advancements are fascinating, my only complaint so that they aren't described well enough. The androids come off as practically human when interacting with the characters but it felt disconnected with the story since there are next to no details about why they respond the way they do or who created them. Im hoping the rest of the series sheds some light on this if I decide to continue reading.

I would have rated this much higher had Cinder's step sister not died the way she did. I had such high hopes when I found out that one of her step sisters was actually nice to her (compared to many other Cinderella retellings) but she was barely in the book long enough to get to know her, and having Cinder right there with the cure was extremely frustrating and I almost put down the book right there

I haven't decided yet if I will finish this series but there is a good chance I will solely based on my fondness if the characters.

This book ripped me in half in so many ways and I will never forget it. It is very slow burn so I definitely opted to savor it so I didn’t get burnt out but as I neared the ending I couldn’t put this down. I was actually sobbing near the end it was so beautifully written. This book is an absolute masterpiece and it will be one of my top recommendations forever.

can I just say that all of the characters deserved so much better, I mean I know he’s supposed to be the "villain" but poor Luc just wanted someone to spend some time with and the fact that Addie had to leave Henry actually tore me in half. And Henry being revealed as the “writer" of the book is actually icing on the cake and is one of my all time favorite tropes.

When I first started reading this book, I didn't like it at all. It seemed so descriptive that the story felt disconnected and confusing, but as I continued reading it I started to enjoy it a lot more and I'm happy I stuck through it and read to the end. I am not a fan of books that describe every detail of every character when you first meet them as I have trouble remembering everything but I made it through the first half of the book that happened less and less and I started enjoying the story a lot more. I didn't have high hopes for a satisfactory ending as i was finishing up this book, but to my surprise I feel like this story was wrapped up very nicely and in a quick enough manner that it didn't drag on and answered a lot of questions I had as I wasnearing the end. That alone redeemed it a lot more in my eyes. The romance between Lira and Elian felt very natural and I thoroughly enjoyed see the relationships between them and all the other characters you grow to love in this book. Each character has their own backstory that I would gladly read more of if given the chance.

While I dont see myself coming back to reread this any time in the future, it is good if you're looking for a book to pass the time,  even better if you're a fan of dark retellings of classic fairytales.

First, I highly recommend having some background in Greek mythology prior to reading this book

I had such high hopes going into this book and ended up being vastly disappointed. I love all things Greek mythology and the cover is gorgeous so I immediately bought it and started reading it right away. I found myself extremely confused right off the bat trying to keep the characters and bloodlines straight but that resolved itself rather quickly once I got further into the book, but then I started becoming confused about the plot itself. The small romance in the book was very cute at first but then just felt forced after, I felt myself more interested in the main characters friends' romance rather that the main character's. I made it half way in and found myself feeling rushed and overwhelmed with information on the main character's backstory in the few jumps into the past. As new information emerged and more and more plot twists started happening I felt like I couldn't trust any of the characters I had started to love. Im all for a good plot twist but there were so many small ones that I genuinely couldn't keep up. There was so much information and plot packed into one book the ending left me feeling unsatisfied, like the author spent so much time writing but got bored near the end and wrapped it all up in 2 pages.

Dont get me wrong, a lot of the story itself is extremely interesting and the characters are very likeable but I just didn't enjoy reading this book as much as I usually would. I felt more forced to finish it so I could move on rather than wanting to keep reading it. I know this book is a perfect fit for some people, but definitely not for me.
