A warning for anyone looking to read this: this is a very trigger heavy book, if there are sensitive topics that you need to avoid i would probably avoid this one since pertty much everything is brought up at least once. Please check content warnings before reading.

Im kind of lost on what I feel about this book. It was good, but I tend to be a detective when reading, so I was searching for every plot twist and I solved 90% of this book within the first 50 or so pages. That didn't ruin my enjoyment of the book, it just made it seem very slow paced for me when I usually like quicker fantasy novels. The premise and the storyline was very interesting, I lost a little on the world building, but considering the entire book is set in a prison that the MC arrived at when she was 7, it kind of makes sense. The characters were interesting enough to hold my attention, and for being only 17, the MC was very mature and resourceful. I would have loved to see more of the side characters and some of the little details of the Prison more fleshed out but it was alright. Everything was mostly saved by the ending in my opinion.
If you're the type of person who doesn't search for plot twists and just wants a fun and quick read then this would be perfect for you. This checks off all the boxes of a basic YA fantasy and it was definitely worth the time. The ending was amazing and I hope the next one does more in terms of world building.

I dont have words to express how insane this was. I loved the characters, the writing, the world building, pretty much everything. I can't wait to read the next one.

Small Favors was everything I had hoped it would be and more. This book had the perfect amount of suspense and untrustworthy characters, I found myself completely unable to put it down. Every character had a story and role to play and different motives, it plays masterfully into the human condition and how some people will do anything in their power to help themselves or the ones they love. It makes you think twice about trusting anyone you meet or even your family. This was definitely more of a slow burn thriller with a lot of suspense leading up to the ending, but its so well written I never felt it was boring. There was always some sort of action or event going on, and I loved the descriptions of the bees added in between and how it weaves in with the darker aspects of the story.
While I did truly love this book, I do believe it could have used an extra chapter right at the end or an epilogue. Open-ended books can work in many cases, but I dont usually favor them, and there was one very glaring question I was left with that would have been resolved by this addition and would have made this book perfect for me. Any books by Erin A. Craig have been added to my must buy list and I'm looking forward to any future novels by her!

This was not what I had hoped it was going to be. I was under the impression that this book was a horror/thriller about a cult that was really dark and twisted and had a big plot twist. Maybe if you're not looking too closely then this could be considered that, but not by much. There is a small and pretty predictable plot twist, that you only understand if you're actually paying attention to every detail, but otherwise I didn't find this very thrilling. Now that is totally on me for not understanding what I was getting into, but even if I had been under the right impression, I dont think I would have liked this at all. I'd say I was semi interested for the first 40% but after that it was just utter confusion. The entire book completely flips in content and pacing without much warning or explanation, so the entire time i was trying to connect things that didn't make sense together. I love a good unreliable narrator just like the next person, but once I'm spending more time trying to decipher whats real and what isn't, then you've lost me. It became clear very early that our main character was struggling with some sort of mental illness, but even without her I really didn't care about a single character. The writing style was interesting but became so repetitive, I mean, you can only read the word "bunny" so many times before going insane. There is a good 1/3 of the book that doesn't seem to fit pacing and content wise, that probably could have been omitted without much consequence. I can kind of see what the author was going for here, but with so many unanswered questions I can see why it gets lost on so many who read this. This would be perfect for you if you are looking for something slow-paced and open-ended, but if you want the vibes of a classic thriller then I'd look elsewhere. All in all, I would say this is not what it's advertised as, it's more like a story about a very lonely girl struggling with normal people things.

I stayed up all night to finish this book and you get a short review because I'm immediately starting the next one. This is the most fun I've had reading a book in ages. Reading Crave felt like watching very dramatic reality TV but Crush sucked me in so quick and I thoroughly enjoyed this the more I got into it. The characters felt more put together and the plot (though still wild) felt like it had more of a direction, plus the reduction of cringe dialog just added to my rating. This book is pure entertainment and I loved every second.
