Reading this felt like sinking into a wholesome, cozy adventure! I wish there was a sequel!

I was half and half on Fourth Wing, but I really enjoyed Iron Flame. It felt like The Emperyan series finally found its footing. Excellent world building, the story is no longer entirely just about the main characters. We get to see what it is they are fighting for and RY makes us actually feel and care for everyone involved!
Graphic: Animal death, Torture, Violence, Kidnapping, War, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Gore

If you love YA fantasy, enemies to lovers, quick-and-easy read, this is your book! If you read the premise and it reminds you of a mix of Pern and Dragonsbane, you might be a little disappointed. That said, the story is intriguing enough, and the characters are diverse, flawed and realistic. I also loved the chronic illness represention. Overall it was an entertaining, and very fun read, and I look forward to the second book!
