I just couldn’t get into the writing style, but kept trying to give the story a chance. It’s fluffy, but the cheese and corn factors are turned up so high, it was cringey for me. In the first sex scene, Chris is attacked by the rooster. He picks up the rooster, carries it outside to its coop, feeds it treats, and goes back inside to fuck Trixie. But he never washes his hands. I literally gagged. I couldn’t keep reading after he touched her with his chicken fingers

It took me a chapter or two to really get hooked, but I loved this story so much. Rosie always does such a good job of making her characters complex, flawed, and lovable—even & especially in this enemies to lovers. The growth of Riley and Clark is incredible, and the intimacy their find together first as desire, then spite, then love, makes this read so enjoyable. Riley and Clark are deeply emotional characters and I loved watching them learn to share that with one another.

In some ways, this book felt like a roller coaster. The end has all these adventurous twists and turns that I loved, and I loved the beginning of the story as well. The middle, mainly in the character development of Ford, fell a little flat for me. It’s a book I’m glad I read because I enjoyed the setting, the premise, and the FMC so much!
