Frank Li, I'm "Frankly in Love" with you! What a great story about being Korean American and learning about yourself and your immigrant parents!! Made me cry. Like how it was sappy but also realistic.

SO CUTE! My favorite thing about this is that I didn't necessarily like Evie the whole book, but I was still invested in the story. Such a great story and loved it.

Disappointing the author of the book is white and yet her main character is bi-racial. A quick, fun enjoyable read!

One of the best books I've ever read. I was so invested and so emotional. Made me cry too.

What a phenomenal book. I love the combination of time travel and going back into time to meet ancestors. While at times the pain and descriptions were graphic, they were all true of the nature of enslaved Black people. I was so emotionally invested and wanted to know what would happen next ALWAYS.

I was soooo confused for the first 100 or so pages. When I got past those, I realized it was intentional and it definitely made the book better looking back. BUT I almost stopped reading because of that. I wish growing up there were more fantasy books that had Black a d other People of Color as the main characters. The intentionality of mixing the Black experience in America with fantasy was super rich and during the social justice aspects I felt intensity, fear, and hope as I had during lived moments I have experienced.
