I REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!

- The magic system in this book is really interesting and at the same time easy to understand
- the writing was really good, it was very fluid and captivating and it went well with the fast pace of the story
- This book kept me at the edge of my sit, I felt like something bad was about to happen the entire book
- the main character was really easy to root for and her past and her abilities made her a very fascinating main character
- This book is full of twists, there was one twist at the end that really shocked me and while I saw the other big twist coming from the very beginning, it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the story because I was anticipating the reveal and the explanitation of how and why certain things happened.

It took me a long time to get into this book, I had to stop for a few days before I could continue because I wasn't enjoying it. My main issue with this is the writing, I know a lot of people love it, but it took me out of the story all the time and I had to re-read passages a few times to really understand what they were saying. BUT once I got used to the writing, I was able to enjoy this a lot more. Also, once the book get pass the first interactions and gets into the angsty romance, I was invested and I LOVED the final part of the book.

-This was cute
- I really liked the relationship between the sisters
-the idea of mixing magic and baking is really interesting and it's well executed.
- This to me read a lot younger than most of the middle grade I have read, which is not bad but I thought it was something that I should point out.

This was a very quick, interesting and entertaining read, but since it's a collection of short stories not a lot of time was spent explaining the world or the magic system for that reason I would say that someone that doesn't read much fantasy may feel lost. Having watched the show beforehand helps with that, Geralt's adventures were almost exactly the same in this book that in the tv show. The main difference with the tv show is that the book only follows Geralt's pov and because of that the parts about Yennefer and Ciri's backstory are not present. I hope to find that backstory in some of the other books in the series, which I'll try to read soon! This first book is defintely a great introduction to Geralt as a character, to the different creatures he faces, his adventures and his main companions.

I LOVE Carmen and Dani and I really enjoyed reading the conclusion to their story. Also, I really like Alex and Jasmin in this book.

The pace of this book was great, it was a quick read and there were things happening all the time so it was a very entertaining book.

I feel like the stakes in this were a little low, I never felt any real tension or worry over the fate of the main characters and a few very convenient things happened.

The writing in this wasn't good and the main character was annoying because she kept going in circles about the same thing and then she suddenly changed her mind at the end. I think this had lots of potential, but it needed to be longer and better written.

I really liked both main characters, I like seeing older characters as the protagonist in romance books, the couple in this had great chemistry and they were very kind and understainding with each other, which I enjoyed reading.

There's a storyline in this book that was very predictable from the very beginning revolving around pregnancy and infertility and I'm not sure how to feel about the way that storyline was handled.
