Such a great book. I found it very helpful and the writing style makes it easy to read. The contents on the other hand make it pretty hard to read, but, then again, reflecting is always difficult. Helped me put several things into perspective.

Tough read, but I'm so glad I read it. It hurts, knowing that all the sexism and misogyny in this book accurately reflects what is actually happening, all over the world, in one form or another. The end did not come as a surprise to me, but it felt like a twist of the knife, nonetheless.

I'm beginning to feel that London revels in cruelty and has much respect for the "survival of the fittest". Don't get me wrong, Buck is a great dog, but it seems to me that London pays a lot of attention to ancestry, genes, and race (and, most importantly, discriminates on it). Now that I've read both White Fang and The Call of the Wild I don't think I'll be reading any more of his books; he really tips my racism sensor and I've been annoyed enough by this.

For what it's worth, I liked the ending.

This was my first contact with Polydouri's work and I really liked it. Emotional, in general; I felt the love of the poet in every page—love for people and nature, as well as love for life itself. Nostalgic, at times, and somewhat sorrowful, but also accepting of death and loss in general. Looking forward to reading her second collection next ("Ηχώ στο Χάος").
