Not nearly as good as the first book and definitely didn’t need to be as long as it was. Every interaction between Violet and Xaden was frustrating because they would get interrupted right before they could resolve anything, then rehashed the same argument for at least half of the book. I was addicted to the dumpster fire and sped through this book within a week, but the ending does not have me on the edge of my seat waiting for the 3rd one to be released.

The only reason I finished this book is because I pre-ordered it with my own money. It really felt like nothing of substance happened and I will not be holding my breath for the continuation of this series
