I expected this book to be cheesy going in, but what I did NOT expect was how much I hated the writing. Too many fourth wall breaks, the “banter” was childish and boring (I skimmed over a LOT of dialogue), and I really didn’t see the need for dual POV. I pushed through because everyone was hyping up the candy cane scene but it honestly was not worth it and the ending wasn't really satisfying 

I want to preface this by saying I began this book as a hate-read because i was so frustrated after Nightbane but wanted to continue the story and see how it ended. I didn’t find out until halfway through that this was no longer a trilogy and I just don’t know if I have it in me to read another two books from this series. I hate the love triangle and most of this book is about Isla struggling about her choice. Like we get it girl, you love them both and this is so hard for you 😢 Every single one of these books is saved by the last 20%, so stayed tuned to see if I pick up the next one whenever it releases

Was ready overlooking the miscommunication trope and still give this book 5 stars until finding out this story was originally a kylo/rey fanfic and

the third act breakup

, but overall I enjoyed it and finished it in one day
