Okay I swear Kathryn writes some of my very favorite omegaverses and I cannot believe I hadn’t read this one yet, especially considering Lola is one of my faves and is connected to this story! I loved that Baby’s designation came so late and that she was in her mid twenties (it’s always fun to find older characters). It was also super fun that the story pretty much started right on page one without really dilly-dallying. It just got straight to the story! I loved the guys and how carefully each one of them and each relationship was written. I felt like I knew them really well! I don’t know if I could pick a fave guy, I liked all of them so much in the end. Jonah was obviously such a guy and I wanted to throttle him at times, but he was good at the core. Each of her guys were so different and it was great to see that show up in their personalities and even their looks. Honestly, I loved that the heat wasn’t quite the main plot point despite the story centering on its impending arrival. I can’t wait to reread Lola and see what I missed last time since now I’ve read this!

I honestly didn’t really know what to expect when I picked this book up, but it sounded interesting and I needed something wildly different from what I’d been reading. In the end, I had a good time with the story and the characters but found myself wanting more darkness!! When I pick up dark romance I want it to basically be pitch black. This book had the potential and even skirted the edge a few times but I didn’t feel like it ever really got fully over the line. I enjoyed Nell and Bradshaw’s story and I even liked the side characters. The premise was really interesting and even some of the unexpected moments were good, I just don’t think this book felt finished to me when I got to the end.

I definitely enjoyed this book! It was much more action-packed than the rest of the books in the series! I also found that I didn’t connect as much with the characters because, while some showed up from earlier books in the series, this one focused more on characters from the Wallflowers series as it was a crossover book. That all said, I found the plot really interesting and loved Kier and Merritt both together and separately! They were so smitten pretty much immediately and so the rest of their love story was really interesting. So happy I took a chance on historical romance this year because I’m loving it!

⚠️While I tried my best to actively avoid including spoilers in this review, I may have unintentionally included minor ones. Read at your own risk.⚠️

Wowowowow. I love the direction this series is taking! It feels much it’s leaning more fantasy (even leaning a bit toward being an epic fantasy with all the adventuring) and less romance to me and, honestly, it’s so nice! There’s definitely still romance woven throughout, so I never felt like it didn’t still have those elements even though it definitely didn’t feel like the main driving force of this book. It was so fun to see how some of the other characters interact with their dragons more closely and I loved getting to see more of the world, in general. I have some theories about what’s coming in the next books and I’m hoping I’m right (or at least along the right tracks). There were definitely some gut punches in this book and I’m so shocked I didn’t cry for any of them. 😂 I saw somebody else say this and I agree: Iron Flame was Xaden’s love letter to Violet, and this book is Violet’s love letter to Xaden. I loved this book and see so many paths forward for the series now! The cliffhanger? What a moment. I can’t wait for the next book!!

Also, please. Somebody tell me Broccoli will be okay and make a reappearance in future books because I love him and he was on like 4 pages.
