Cute story. Loved the ending but it lost me a bit in there for a while.

If "casual" by chapel roan was a book about two bisexuals. Instead of being knee deep in the passenger seat he was knee deep
outside her apartment door

Me and
sparrow
are going to fight.

I've been sitting in this book for a month now. It's put me into a book slump. How will I ever find something that feels like this book feels 😰 book two can't come fast enough.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 9%.
I might give it a try later but it just felt a little juvenile to me for killers.

Mini Review:
I have been on a dragon kick this year and Makiia Lucier's Dragonfruit may be the most beautifully written one of them so far. This lushly crafted Pacific Islander-inspired YA Romantasy had dragons, pirates, princes, and a unique soft magic system that I enjoyed immensely. I was pulled to Hannalei and her compassion despite everything and there wasn't a moment I was not rooting for her and Prince Sam. The romance part of this romance was lacking, but I still had the best time delving into mythology I might not have otherwise learned about.
