Second Debt by Pepper Winters

So far, this is my favorite book of the series. So much happened.

Love, hate, punishments.

Nila finally gets pushed over the edge.

Jethro falls in love.

The Second Debt will probably be my least favorite out of all of them. Not that I would like any of them! But drowning will never tickle my fancy. If it weren't for Jethro resuscitating her, she'd be dead.

With that, they blow their cover. His family finds out his true feelings of her. They know he's not as hard as he needs to be.

It finishes with a cliffhanger. Nila is free because her brother did everything in his will-power to help her escape.

But she didn't want to leave.

UGH. CLIFFHANGERS KILL ME. Luckily, I bought all of the books before I started reading the series!

So I know I said Second Debt was my favorite. Third Debt threw that right out the window. I was on the tip of my toes the entire book.

And that cliffhanger???? What is life right now????????????/

Nila was finally free, but not really. She was on borrowed time. She wanted Jethro. So much so, she'd go back to living in hell to be with him.

Jethro has a condition that makes him feel what others feel and has a strange thing with wanting to be perfect for his dad. Cut gives him drugs to hide his true self. He no longer feels.

Well, until Nila comes back. I knew for sure she'd make him go back to normal.

So far, the Third Debt is the most degrading one. Luckily for Nila, Jethro and Kes had a plan. A plan that fell through.

A plan that got both Kes and Jethro shot by their father.

The plan destroyed everything. Leaving Nila with no allies, except for her brother, Vaughn, who was taken to make sure she behaves.

Pepper, if you kill off Jethro and Kes, I will cry.

Nila Weaver now belongs to Jasmine. Nila believes that Jasmine is just as bad as Cut, Daniel and Bonnie. Little does she know, Jasmine is keeping a secret.

Jethro is alive. Kestrel is alive.

And they still want to end the Debt Inheritance.

Jasmine is supposed to be in charge of all the punishments done to Nila. Until, they start doing them behind her back. Hindering her access to watch the punishments.

They have driven Nila to lose herself. She doesn't want to do it anymore. She can't do it anymore. That is, until she sees Jethro again.

Seeing him helps her find herself again. But when he sends her back to hell, she learns she doesn't have time anymore.

She'll be dead in less than a week.

I hope Jethro has a good ass plan for this. I want them to win. I want them to kill all those bastards.

Cliffhanger, like always. I'm dreading to know what happens next. I hope everything works out in Nila's favor.

The first chapter is a bit confusing to me. Why in the world would Zoe let Jonah go out during a snowstorm? Why would their mother leave them alone, knowing they aren't old enough to make good decisions????

After a little while, she goes out to look for her brother who didn't answer when she called for him to come back inside. She finally finds him underneath their dogs which they inherited from their dead neighbors.

They go in the house where to the two old people used to live to keep warm. While inside trying to stay warm, someone approaches. That someone was the person who killed her neighbors. He came to drown the dogs for some crazy unknown reason. When he tries to drown them, X shows up. X is someone from the Lowlands there to punish Stan for his evil deeds.

Later that night, after she emails the police about Stan, they show up to question her about Stan and X. She lies about X until they show her the picture she posted on Instagram of him (typical teenage move). Her mom shoos them away and leads the children to the garage where she's hidden X.

X is a man/boy who takes people to hell or to the Lowlands for harming/killing others. He knows people there, he trains people to do what he does and nobody goes by their given names.

And that's about as far as I got. This story has such a great concept. I cannot handle the writing though. I don't know if it's because the fact that the book I have hasn't been edited or what. I was so excited to read this book!

I'm thinking I'm going to read it again when it comes out!

Okay, so another second chance romance. I was kind of excited about this book because in Kaleidoscope Hearts, I loved Mia. I loved her outgoing character and I really wanted to read her story. But, this is yet another book I was hoping didn’t have a happy ending!!

I am glad with how it ended though, it was super cute. Although, reading this book makes me wish I had such great friends like Mia and Jenson. It also makes me happy that Claire gave Jenson and Krista a great relationship, even though their marriage ended. I love seeing parents working it out even though they’re not together anymore. Also, can I point out that if my dad were Mia’s, he would have killed Jenson.

And can I just say how beautiful the cover is?? I just love how creative it is! With that being said, I’m giving Paper Hearts four stars. I don’t feel like it quite deserves five and it definitely doesn’t deserve less than four.

I'm not gonna lie, I got this book because of the cover. It's just too cute to pass up on.

Like most of Nicholas Sparks' books, Two by Two has a slow start. At the beginning, I can tell I was really going to like Russell. He has high hopes and dreams. The sad thing about him is that he lets his wife walk all over him. Even knowing their financial situations, she still does whatever she wants and gets kind of pissy when she has to get a job to help out.

I'm going to go on a little rant of why I don't like Vivian right now. She's bossy. She gets bitchy when things don't go her way. She makes her daughter do things she doesn't want to do. She's just an all around bitch and I'm not too sure what in the world Russ saw in her when they were dating. She's not supportive of Russ or his dreams.

Anyway, Russ quits his so far successful job to branch out and start his own business. It doesn't start out so well which causes Vivian to get a job to help bring some money in the house. Things start to go downhill from there. Vivian is gone a lot, leaving Russ to watch London all day. Meaning, he hardly has time to actually work because she won't find a good daycare to put London in!

This is the typical family. Everything about this book screams reality. This book is so realistic, it hurts. I hurt for Russ and London for what they go through.

The beginning of the book had me smiling. Happy for Russ and Vivian. As the book went on, I got angry. When it ended, I was in tears.

This book is moving, inspirational. Sparks hit a home run with this one.
Even When You Lie to Me by Jessica Alcott

This book was nothing how I expected it to be. I was fooled by the synopsis to think this book is about the "relationship" of a teacher and his student. There wasn't a relationship at all!! Just endless flirting from mostly Charlie, the senior who has a crush on her English teacher, Mr. Drummon (Tom).

Nothing happened in this book, which I should have known. This book seems like the author wanted to write about an unlawful relationship but didn't want to. Almost like she was scared to get to the nitty-gritty details.

I felt like the flirting was all one-sided from the beginning. I honestly don't think Tom cared for her as much as Jessica tried to lead on. He didn't try to fight for her, he just left. He just quit. I mean, I know their relationship was illegal and all, but he didn't even seem like he cared for her half the damn time.

I felt like Charlie would have been better off trying to date Dev. He showed more emotion toward her than Tom did when they were naked together.

In my eyes, Tom is a dick who just wanted to be around Charlie because she made him feel good. Wanted, because his marriage with his ex-wife fell through because of insecurity.

Also, I don't see how Charlie and Lila can be friends. Lila is such a bitch to her! Knowing that Charlie was in love with Tom and trying to make a move on him. I would have smacked her!

I wanted so much from this book. It's not as great as I thought it would be. It's still a decent book though, I did enjoy the read.

This book had me feeling everything. I was so mad with Nina for what she did to Liv. In the end, I'm kinda glad it happened. If that makes any sense at all.

Dean has melted my heart more than once in this book. He's such a kind-hearted person. He cares for Liv so much and I love him for it.

I really don't want to give any spoilers but I kinda have to.

Liv gets breast cancer, I'm so happy that in the end she makes it cancer-free. Thank you for not killing off Liv. I don't think I could have forgiven you for that one Nina.

Liv gets so much love and support from everyone. Everyone except Allie, who just kinda pushes her away. We learn that it's because her mother died from breast cancer and she couldn't handle it. I personally think she should have tried a little harder to be there for Liv.

Claire, the nanny. I knew as soon as she was brought into the equation that she was going to be a problem. Dean, the loving man that he is, turned her down so fast. I was beyond proud of him. Most men would definitely have taken that chance.

Ugh, just all-in-all, this book was such a great ending to a fantastic series. I was not wanting to read this book because I thought Nina was going to kill Liv off. (I accidentally saw she got cancer before I read the book. Oops)

Five stars all the way Nina. Keep up the great work!

I loved almost everything about this book. I read it in less than a day. I just wish there was more to it. I wish there was more character development. I wish there was more time between Abbie and Jonathan.

Everything was so fast-paced. I loved that! I love a book that has something new and exciting on every page.

I just could not get a visual on what Abbie would look like! It's kind of frustrating trying to imagine a person without all of their qualities that make that person them.

I would have given the book five stars if it were longer and a little more drawn out :(

I'm hoping the next book is going to be longer!
