A bit like a good Taylor Swift song, this books had a little of everything. Roman e, friendship, girl power and a strong family.  Much more of a workplace drama than romance, but I enjoyed this quick read and the characters.

Ehh?  I really, really enjoyed the first 100 pages of this book.  I liked the premise of the time loop.  I was invested in Carter and Mariana's history and relationship.  But, then it got weird and it lost me.  I have zero clue why Mariana did what she did.  I was more curious about Shay and the dog & cat than I was if she fixed the time loop.  I also am very confused on why Bowie was needed?

This was my favorite read so far by this author.  The sibling dynamic and dialog was spot on, especially since I myself come from a family with 4 siblings.  I got such a kick out of their text chain.  The issues and stress caused by the loss of their mother was felt more deeply than the issues they faced once they won the Powerball.  They had to lean on each other to get through and find themselves.

Middle grade novel. Really does a good job explaining the feelings of confusion during the middle school years. Of wanting to have fun and be a kid yet have friends who want to be older. The cultural issues could have been discussed better, but again appropriate for the age.

Well written, likable and realistic characters.  I really enjoyed getting to know everyone and I especially loved the sneak peak back into Lunar Love. The Chinese folklore was fun as well.  What threw me was that boom all of the sudden we're in love. Maybe I needed more steam??

I am starting to think of Ms. Young as a to-be-read author.  Wonderful story.  Full of love, family and really interesting characters.  Magic too.  I still need to work some of the timeline stuff through, but Ms. Young makes it all seem believable.
