Pawn of Prophecy by David Eddings
4.0
This book was a re-read to me and is honestly one of my absolute favorites. The detail is exquisite without being overwhelming or too much and the characters while not being overly developed in the first book of a 5 book series are still developed well enough to form valid opinions of who they are. If you enjoy fantasy books that you can sink into and feel adventure and warmth? This would be the book for you.
Bloody Bones by Laurell K. Hamilton

I love the Anita Blake novels and Bloody Bones cinched that for me. Yes, Anita is a bit unrealistic in terms of what she's capable of and survives but really it's a paranormal book. I enjoy that. She still gets hurt, she has faults, and I enjoy her story. This book I really liked as it delved into more than just her animator and necromancy ability and including fae which has always been an interest of mine. Overall, I give it 4/5 stars and look forward to the next book.
Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

I enjoyed this book. I was honestly expecting it to be just a tad bit darker in terms of thoughts but instead I felt it fit really well with both Edward being a seventeen year old, even having been that age for decades. It mixed both the normal teenage urges on a mans side with the gentlemanly upbringing he'd had before he was turned and I enjoyed that immensely. I loved the books way more than the movies and I really love having the point of view from Edward. There were similarities, obviously, but there was enough added that didn't make me feel like I was just re-reading Twilight.
