Part of me understands that this is a good book and another part of me rejects that knowing. Compelling, unique, and perhaps worth the read... For horror lovers though, not for dabblers like myself.

Heartland, Heartwork: A Field Guide to Place and Possibility for Rural Leaders by Springboard for the Arts, Michele Anderson, Mary Welcome

Rare and essential reading for any rural leader: artist, mayor, teacher, librarian, councilperson, volunteer, citizen, visitor. Required reading too... for urban dwellers, funders, and census takers.

I loved this book. Both beautiful and helpful, it has every number or anecdote I always wished would make it to print. Finally, there seems to have landed a real resource for rural dreaming and doing.

Thank you, Springboard for the Arts!
