starting off the year strong with this one; excellent although by no means light, explores trauma and grief v well
Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Pérez
The sheer amount of data in this book is staggering. At times I felt somewhat resistant to some of it; in short I didn't believe it, not necessarily because I felt that it was untrue but rather that it fell too neatly into the "women good, man bad" category but that might just be a me problem. Other than that I was sorely disappointed by the lack of inclusion of data on queer (and especially trans) women as well as the scant data on women of color. I also felt that the words "female" and "women" were used interchangeably too often when they don't exactly feel interchangeable to me.
Overall, it was a pretty informative read despite being somewhat outdated. It made me sufficiently angry
