I feel like the arcs in this volume were surprisingly a lot more interesting than the previous 2, so I am super excited to continue to see what else happens!

I loved how thorough the concepts were in terms of describing the psychology of evil in the real world. The characters were really well thought out and it was very gripping, even though it was long.

One day maybe I will find a horror novel that doesn't include queer people and women without demonizing and/or victimizing them. I thought it was solidly enjoyable in terms of the writing, but I feel like a lot of the plot and topics explored are tropes that have been overdone, such as Southern small town murders, hitchhikers, etc., though these were intermingled with a few really cool new ideas.

The first 90% of the book? Amazing. Immaculately written and enthralling. The last 10% of the book? What in the
stepmother/stepchild relationship
was that...

My favorite aspect of this poetry collection where instead of a usual acknowledgements and about the author page, these were expressed as poems themselves. An amazing look at when it means to be Black and transgender and the way these identities interact with one another.
