I found this book very informative in terms of how I can best conduct my life to achieve a sense of peace, but I also think that in some ways I lack some of the background knowledge on Buddhism to be able to fully understand this text. This book, though, makes me want to read up more on Buddhism, which I think might be a helpful practice, even though I do not consider myself religious.

This book made me cry so much and it was so inspiring. It's such a beautiful look into what it means to try to change the way your life was meant to be carried out and whether it is possible to change the destinies placed on us by class structures.

The Ruins by Scott Smith

Did not finish book. Stopped at 52%.
I had such high expectations for this book because Stephen King was a fan of one of the author's other books, but it really fell short. The horror aspects were good, but unlike King's novels, the characterization was so poor that every single character felt like an NPC. It is written from multiple perspectives, but every perspective could've been the exact same person with how little characterization they each had.
