I loved this book. It’s the first V E Schwab I’ve read, despite not being the first I’ve owned and from the very beginning I was head over heels for the prose style.

There were a few points where I tried to guess what the twist was, what dramatic thing would tear Henry and Addie apart. I didn’t manage to guess before it happened.

The way it was told, flicking between past and present, captured my attention and though I finished it fairly quickly (for me, atm) I feel like I could have savoured this book for months.

I’ve put off reading From Blood and Ash for years because I was convinced I would be disappointed. It turns out that I’m only disappointed that it took me SO LONG to start this series 😂

I loved this book so much. Sure there were trope-y bits and sure sometimes the characters were frustrating and sure there was a “twist”(?) that I saw coming really early (having apparently side-stepped that potential spoiler entirely!) but it was, overall, really good! I’m excited to continue through the books in this world ❤️

Another solid amazing book from Hannah Whitten - an author who is fast becoming one of my faves, whose worlds I love to dawdle through and savour, even when they’re intense and dark and bitter.

I loved this - I wish I had just a tiny inkling of what was going on in Bastian’s head at any one point 😂 Lore is an excellent and believable heroine and Gabe is my fave grumpy guy atm.
