Could do without the interwoven fan fiction, I just don't think it added to the story at all. If anything it took away from the characters.

I did not guess a single correct thing in this book, and to me that's a good sign of something inventive and new. Everywhere my mind went, this went a different direction. I appreciated it and enjoyed it!
