The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa

The book was overall cute and I enjoyed some of the banter and clever writing style as well as the big Brazilian family dynamic. However, I couldn’t get past how it was hard to distinguish between the two POVs. Solange and Dean did not have distinct, unique voices. At times, only significant context clues (which family member is in the scene, gendered pronouns, etc) clued me in as to whose POV I was reading from.

The sex scene was also random and the p*ssy poem made me cringe so very much. Overall, it didn’t feel like Solange and Dean had any chemistry. I had to go back and see if I missed a chapter because it seems like they went from strangers to “I’m infatuated with her sexy personality and also her sexy body!” way too fast.

Maybe I’m missing something since I didn’t read The Worst Best Man, but this was just an “okay” book. Nothing more than I would expect from an average romance novel. Not terrible, but not memorable (except for the p*ssy poem, which is memorable for all the worst reasons). Around the 40% mark I was just wanting to be done with it.
