Popcorn book that should be classified as NA or Adult. I didn’t expect much from it and had a good time in my listening. The narrator was mid. In Mallory’s defense, her sisters *were* being b’s. I was surprised at how old they were supposed to be (13 and 15) because they were written like toddlers in their spoiled attitudes. I liked the chess references, but at times it felt like the author played one game and thought, “This would be a great romance novel idea.” Solid 3.5.

Can’t beat the first book, but still a fun mystery for someone who enjoys more lighthearted mystery novels.

Ended at 3:10. Audible trial ended :/
