Something Fabulous by Alexis Hall
4.0
This was so fun! It’s absolutely bananas. Bonny is so over the top, chaotic dramatic little ho. Valentine is oblivious and grumpy. I really liked the story of their relationship. I had very little patience for the sister, but I guess she was a necessary plot point.
Wicked and the Wallflower by Sarah MacLean

Loved it.
Everything about it was poetic. I never once doubted the connection, one of the best wallflower/rogue and different class books I have ever read. Not once did I feel bored or that anything was contrived
Recurrent imagery of light/dark, hot/cold was very effective. Every story detail had a purpose. I’m very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting
A+ banter. I had a few lol and snorts reading this. Especially Stevie’s inner monologue. Same girl same. Big payoff when sexy times finally happen. The last act conflict that drives them apart is substantial enough to be real and yet not too easy to overcome but it can be dealt with if that makes sense. Also, I’d like to lodge a complaint with my apartment building management about the lack of hot hockey players walking around in their boxer briefs.
The Pilot & the Puck-Up by Pippa Grant
DNF at 33%. The main characters are assholes and I was waiting for the romcom to start. I didn’t get any pull or connection or attraction between them at all. The writing style annoyed me.
Fired Up by Riley Hart
It’s the next day and I’m still thinking about them!! Such a great frenemies to lovers story. I loved how it came through that they have been friends for a long time by the continued banter you’d expect from guys on a team together. Kenny was the best. I really felt for Ash and how he was outed and the angst created by Ash coming to terms with his sexuality. Beau was patient but I don’t think he realized the extent of Ash’s fears until they came true. The HEA was so mushy and adorable I loved it. If Beau weren’t gay he’d be on my real life book boyfriend list for sure.
Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall
Here I am, once again, unhinged and screaming about an Alexis Hall book. He turns a phrase like no other. I adored the comedy - smart. Especially some of Jennifer’s rants. I can’t say that a love triangle is something that’s common in romance, I never really thought it would work out well. But in this case it does. By the half point you know A is an ass and she will end up with H. And so glad she does.
The Takeover by TL Swan
Finished this one now too. Irritated that in all the conferences I’ve attended…..
But seriously, this one is better than the last because it is so funny! By 30% I was laughing with tears. The heroine is a touch older than the hero, a widow with 3 boys. In all honesty, the bits with the family were the most endearing.

The Stopover by TL Swan
Irritated that not once in all my years of air travel has a hot billionaire sit next to me.
