I grew up watching and loving the movie and now that I was in the mood to read the story behind it, I’m glad it’s another book off my physical tbr. The illustrations were great and slightly creepy & it was overall a fun and fast paced read.

I love seeing these two couples get their HEA and how their separate journeys years later inevitably bring them back together to solve the issues that happened at the end of Foul Lady Fortune. I’m excited to see how these characters are brought back to help Rosalind and Orion in the next book!

This is the worst romance book I’ve ever read in my life and i want the time I wasted reading this back.
The FMC is a professional doormat, the mmc is a Grade A jackass, and the mother and sister of the fmc deserve nothing but misery and a good punch to the throat. All of these characters were fucking horrible and didn’t have a single redeeming quality about them which is unfortunate since trying to find any was the only reason I sat through this book.

I gave Our Violent Ends 5 stars and to be followed by this book just solidified that Chloe Gong is officially an auto-buy author for me, bc this book did not disappoint one bit. This universe and its storyline’s are so interesting to read about especially when we get to see different characters perspectives on what’s going on politically and personally. I love that this book was more action packed than the previous duology bc I loved the spy + double agent arcs since you can never be too convinced about one’s loyalty in this ‘kill or be killed’ world. Don’t even get me started on the slow burn romance between Rosalind & Orion bc they legit had me blushing and kicking my feet from cute and intimate their interactions were especially since they aren’t physically intimate. The prolonged eye contact, them dancing and him putting on her necklace while looking at her in the mirror? Him literally beating up the man that attacked her screaming “Don’t touch my wife!” LORDDDDD I eat that shit up every fucking time and I love it 😫  One might say I loved these two a bit more than Roma and Juliette but don’t tell them that 🫣 PLUS the romantically intimate scenes from the side characters like Oliver and Celia *swoooooon*. I cannot wait to start Last Violent Call bc the ending had me screaming‼️ If the note is from who I think it is, I will cry :’) I must continue reading this series if it’s the last thing I do.

Nic deserves sm better from the people in here life prior to meeting the Jackson family bc dear god does her bio mom and sister need a big ass punch to the face to gain any type of sympathy from me and any other sane person. And as much as I liked the fmc she needed to grow a backbone bc there is not a chance in hell that I would’ve accepted my sister back into my life after the treacherous backstabbing shit she pulled. To find out in front of everyone that my twin sister is pregnant with my fiancés child AT THE ALTER⁉️ I would’ve had to air the place out bc ain’t no fucking way. Then to have her go on MY honeymoon with my now ex fiancé yet the fmc still felt like she should reach out and apologize for something after that audacious phone call from her mother on her birthday?? If I were her friend trust that I’d knock some sense into her bc that shit would not slide with me especially once her sister came back and didn’t even grovel or pretend to be sorry and take responsibility for her actions🤮 pregnant or not I would’ve had that whack ass bitch on her knees begging for my forgiveness (sorry for the cussing but Veronica genuinely had me heated while reading this book😭) REGARDLESS of the horror that is her bio family, Ethan and Lilly were exactly who Nic needed at this time though the only thing I find unbelievable about their romance is how quickly it happened bc wdym they fell in love and went through all this within a month? 🤨

UGHHH this book is too fast paced and the chemistry and romantic build up between the mc’s is so superficial and written like a person adding random shit to reach the word count on their essay. The lack of groveling on his part while being possessive over a woman he hasn’t given the time of day to in about 5 years is ridiculous. I’d recommend this only if it’s been heavily re-edited and the couple is actually worth shipping together and the plot is worth reading.

Dear lord the mouth on this man had me blushing, giggling and kicking my feet. I love that the actual sex scenes weren’t overly detailed or graphic compared to the build up of them with his dirty talk, actions and the slight angst bc that personally made those scenes in the book better rather than the mc’s fucking with no chemistry.

Good for readers that like medium stakes YA fantasy with sapphic mc’s 🤭 this was a cool quick read about three demon slaying sisters with a focus on the youngest sister Neve and her storyline.

I have been wanting to be get to this book for awhile now since it’s been on my shelves for a little over a year, and Belladonna did not disappoint! I loved the who-done-it aspects of the book when it came to figuring out the murderer and their motives bc I was pleasantly surprised when it came to the reveal and the way it happened. And can we talk about the love interest Death 🤭 Signa really lucked out with him bc he does NOT play about his girl fr AHHH I was obsessed with those two.
