The slight world building caught my attention but the plot was terrible and just got worse as the book went on. It was so slow. The main male character was just not it. The “little one” use grossed me out so bad. Especially since the main female character was groomed by the Lord of her city from the time she was 7.

Yikes. Why didn’t the editors reign JLA in with this? 90% of this book was the same repetitive mfc’s inner thoughts over and over again. I had to put it on 2.0 on audible in order to get through this. I’m extremely disappointed. I’m not sure I will read the last book in this series. I’ve loved her other books so I don’t know what happened.
