The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Parts of this book were really beautiful and well written. These parts read like poetry. I loved the descriptions of Achilles. She made him as Godlike as I imagined. I wish the author would’ve added some more depth to Patroclus. He felt very flat. His main personality trait was that he was obsessed with Achilles.

The book was very slow at times. I wish there would’ve been more dialogue between the main characters and less flowery descriptions of the going ons of war. I had to speed read/scan quickly entire pages at a time just to get to the meat of the book.
