This book is like your favorite Nora Ephron movie had a baby with an Emily Henry and/or Ali Hazlewood book. The banter, the chemistry, the fully fleshed out side characters, the frustrating third act breakup. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me kick my feet and giggle. I want to wrap this book around me like a warm hug.

Big “not like other girls” energy for someone who doesn’t think twice before sleeping with a vampire.

Second book syndrome. I had high hopes for this but it fell flat just a few too many times. I won’t pretend to understand the nuance of some of the themes, but it felt like the main characters’ development did a complete 180 by the end.

I’m looking forward to picking up the next book, but I don’t know that I’ll rush out and buy it.
