What a sequel! I loved Iron Flame as a follow up to Fourth Wing. However it felt rushed often and could absolutely have been split into two books to allow all the plot points and other characters/relationships really be shown. I personally did not find any of the end conclusions that shocking since everyone has been theorizing and lots of foreshadowing throughout the novel. Still obsessed, still love Xaden, can't wait for the third one!

This was the rare read in this genre where even though nothing was truly shocking and the "mystery" was over very early for everyone except the protagonist, it was still super enjoyable! I think that is a testament to Lisa Jewell's writing and character-building. I was invested even though I already knew what happened. This was the first book of hers that I have read, and I would definitely like to read another!

Overall a good thriller with an ending I didn't expect, but the continual spotlight on an adult-child relationship was unnecessary.

A perfect follow up to One Dark Window. I LOVED this duology and could reread it immeadiately.
