I really enjoyed this. This was the first book I read in the series and I immediately went out and bought the first three after I finished!

I adored Nik and Izzy. I loved how they balanced each other out and they had a really healthy relationship for how young they are. They didn’t have a lot of miscommunication which I loved! And there wasn’t a lot of unnecessary drama! I also loved that both of them were athletes. They both had different struggles surrounding their sport and I loved seeing both of them work through them and be supportive of each other.

I really enjoyed seeing Izzy and Nikolai’s growth throughout the book. They both had their own issues that they were dealing with and I loved that they were able to find the resources they each needed to grow. I did love Nik’s decision to grow on his own but still keep his promises to Izzy and come back to her.

This book definitely had its quirks but I think its biggest flaw is that it felt way too long. I did love most of the plot and spicy scenes but there were a few that just seemed a little unnecessary and made the book feel longer.

I thought this was cute. I liked the premise of the game show and thought Olivia and Chuck had pretty good physical chemistry.

I really loved Olivia, I liked relationship with her grandmother and I thought her parent’s background was pretty interesting and how it all played out in the end. I did have a really hard time liking Chuck. He did get better by the end and you kind of get a glimpse at why he is the way he is but at the beginning he was being a very stereotypical C-List actor by blowing her off for his career which I wasn’t really a fan of.

I really enjoyed this! I loved Nikhil and Marley. This book definitely dove into heavier topics (cancer, racism in the media industry) but I thought it was done really well especially when explaining the BRCA gene and the mastectomy process. This was an unfamiliar topic to me. I’m glad that Marley had such a supportive group between Nikhil and her friends during her recovery.

Marley is portrayed as such a strong woman and like the book says, even strong women need support. I’m glad she was able to find resources of support outside her family that had dealt with the same circumstances.

While I did love this, it did feel a little slow pacing wise at times which is definitely why it took me a bit to get through it.

Also loved the author’s note at the end. <3

“Live that happily ever after we love to read about so much in books.”

I am such a sucker for romance books with a bookish FMC because it’s one of the ones I relate to so much and this one didn’t disappoint. Marcela was such a sweetheart and so relatable I adored her! I really loved her friendship with Angela, I always love seeing strong female friendship representation.

I’m normally not a huge fan of the love triangle trope but the idea of it being a love square was pretty intriguing to me. But I am a sucker for best friends brother so that definitely sucked me originally!

I really loved Theo as the MMC! He had such great chemistry and Marcela and him buying her books for her collection is literally the sweetest thing.

I’m so glad everything worked out for Theo, Marcela and Alice and Ben got what he deserved. I hated him from the very beginning and was praying he and Alice would break up.

This was such a great debut, I can’t wait to read more from this author!
