White as Silence, Red as Song by Alessandro D'Avenia

So, I only read 10 pages maximum back in the day and I decided I would never read this book. There's nothing wrong with it, the problem is that there exist a boy in real life that I hate that has the same name and personality as the main character in this book.
I think that's one of the reasons why I love fantasy, usually names on those books are so strange that I would never meet someone call that, therefore I wouldn't compare it with a real human. It's sad because this might be a good book but I would always be thinking about the boy I hate and I know I would end up hating the main character for no special reason and then I would hate the book because to like a book I have to like the main character first :/

If you want to read something that leaves you feeling lighter during these challenging days, look no more! This book is most definitely for you!
Before anything, I suggest you grab a pen and paper when you start this one because you'll want to remember quotes, excercises and just incredible ideas that'll come to your mind while reading because See Me will open your mind to new possibilities and directions that you've never considered.
Moreover, a word that I think matches this book perfectly is engaging. Believe me, you will not only grab pen and paper because it's recommended but because you'll want to do it. In this book we get to see Hailey's point of view on different aspects of life and what she has learn through diferent experiences, as well as real life stories that complete the reading experience perfectly. Those stories go from normal people like you and me to really outstanding ones like Malala.
I was hooked into this book since the moment I first opened it and I decided to read it more slowly than my other reads just because I wanted to let every word sink into my mind, I was able to find a wide variety of quotes that I know I'll be repeating in my head for a while.
There were two important messages throughout these pages and those were that your feelings are valid and it's ok if you don't have all the answers right now. And honestly, those two concepts would have been so beneficial for me in my teen years when I thought that being positive was not having "bad" thoughts ever and that I needed to figure out my entire life in a couple of months. I wish this book was around during that time because I would have found my happiness a lot sooner.
And that's the key point of this book, finding happiness and how we all have a different idea of what happiness looks like and that it's totally normal. We should find joy in our uniqueness and live our lives based on our own values and goals because at the end of the day we should be our biggest cheerleaders.

Flavor of the Month by Georgia Beers

I came because of the baked goodies and I stayed for the lovely lesbian second chance romance!
Flavor of the Month is about Charlie having to go back to her town after a heartbreak and there she finds Emma, her high school sweetheart and the person whose heart she broke years ago. Now, we get to see how much they grew (or didn't) and how they react to seeing each other after such a long time.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of second chance romances but this one truly is the exception to the rule. The way these two girls handled the situation was so mature, plus you could see that there was a time when they loved each other deeply and the way they broke up is bound to have similar passionate responses.
Everything I was hoping to get from this book, was delivered! Especially those baked goodies, there's nothing I love more in books than to see people bake and describe the tasty things they prepare. It was mainly about sweet and baked things but we also got a glimpse of food cooked by a chef.
In my opinion, Emma was the most well rounded and relatable character of these two. She went through a lot of rough things but even then she would still be a nice person who cared about her business and tried to make every customer feel at home. She was the description of strong minded and dedicated. Charlie, on the other hand, was a bit dramatic and selfish a lot of times so I couldn't completely like her but I appreciate the growth we got to see her make throughout this novel.
All in all, I would recommend this book 100% to everyone looking for an adorable f/f romance where the characters are trying to step over their shared past. And also anyone who loves slow burn romances, aka the best ones!
