The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan

i was completely consumed by this book when reading it. i was laughing out loud & audibly replying to what was happening throughout the book. the only thing that was slightly confusing for me in the beginning was how the point of views were written but once i got the hang of it, it all made sense throughout. the characters were so funny and relatable. very excited to see what else this author has written.

to say this book broke me is an understatement. it was funny, sad, beautiful & heartbreaking all in one. i did not want to close the book and have to accept that i wouldn’t be able to read another letter from charlie. i watched the movie years ago and have been wanting to read the book since. i’m so glad i did. this is definitely a top favorite book for me, of all time. i would love to hear from charlie and about his life now. the characters are so relatable and lovable.

i’m an avid reader but i most likely wouldn’t end a possible relationship over someone not enjoying my fav genre or my fav book so the explanation as to why she felt that way definitely made sense lol. not what i was expecting. i loved the dual pov, especially with seeing how they were both obsessed with each other. even years later. the ending was pretty creative and it was cute that they decided to collab together in that way. very enjoyable, light read.

definitely an interesting read. nice twist in regards to dylan & chandler’s true relationship towards the end by samantha informing and confirming chandler’s suspicions.
some of it seemed a bit rushed but it was great overall. i still recommend it. arc copy
