Elliott Rose’s smut is literally NEXT LEVEL 🙂‍↕️🤌🏼

Omfg. Storm and Briar’s story was so god damn good from the very beginning. Their tension, their banter, their chemistry — all of it had me blushing like a fool and scrambling to pick my jaw up off the floor. I’m a sucker for a good taboo romance, and I was gnawing on the bars of my enclosure for Uncle Storm!!! The gruff, no fucks given, no nonsense cowboy was down BAD for her. He tried his best to fight the attraction, knowing it was forbidden and trying his hardest to keep some distance, all to protect her reputation. But Briar was having none of it. Every challenge he presented, she rose quickly to the occasion 🤭 The “teach me” moments? The cuff? I could shove my whole fist in my mouth just thinking about it, GIDDY UP.

But don’t get me wrong, the tender moments were there, and they were tugging at the heartstrings. Briar had a past filled with so much hurt, and I enjoyed seeing her drawn out of her shell, not only be Storm, but through her newfound friendship with Kayce and especially Layla. It brings me so much joy that Elliott Rose includes healthy female friendships in her stories and doesn’t rely on romantic love to heal her characters.

Just another banger. Absolutely no notes. And after the teasers at the end, I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!! 😈

I knew this final book would absolutely EATTTT. I’ve been waiting on Azazel and Eve’s story since the beginning 🤭 Captor x captive, Daddy kink, possessive mmc, hyper independent fmc? Katee basically wrote this with me in mind. Perfect ending to the series 🤌🏼

Bashing my head into the wall over this, but in a good way 😅

Isolde is violent and fierce, and I love her strength of character so much. She doesn’t cower in the face of danger, doesn’t concede when backed into a corner. She’s a Queen in every respect. Our hottie vampire King Adrian is powerful, calculating and ruthless. His soft spot for Isolde has me melting into a puddle 🥰

The world around them continues to try and tear them apart, and despite their fierce love for each other a HEA seems so out of reach while they fight battles at every turn. I’m rooting for them so god damn hard in the next book!!!!

This monster romance really has me attracted to a plant man. At what point do I admit I need psychological help?
🫣🙂‍↕️

No but seriously, this was dark and creepy and hot. Nora and Alex were such wonderfully depraved characters to explore, both cold, calculating and monstrous in their own ways. The temptation to feed into that toxic obsession was too much to resist, despite the knowledge that should probably run (screaming) in the other direction.

The balance of gothic mystery, sinister cult setting, and romance was handled so well. I found myself completely sucked into this story and the eerie landscape of St. Thorns University. And WOW can Clio Evans write some god damn smut 🤌🏼 chained out in the woods? spectacular. the cathedral scene? phenomenal. Just no notes. get me a tree man STAT.

Thank you to Clio Evans and Luna Literary Management for the eARC.

3.75

honestly this is sitting somewhere between a 3.5 🌟 and 3.75 🌟 for me. I really enjoyed the story and how whimsical and magical this was, while also having such a dark and sinister underlying quality to the world. It’s the embodiment of all “all that glitters is not gold.” our mc Violet Everly has been raised by her two uncles ever since her mother mysteriously disappeared as a child. No one knows where Marianne has gone or whether she’ll return, but there’s a confidence shared by all that she’s out there SOMEWHERE. We quickly learn that this family is unlike others, cursed to pay a debt each generation, owed to an ageless and powerful woman named Penelope, who shows no remorse for the devastation she’s wrought on their lives over the years. After a bargain is struck between one of her uncles and this woman, Violet is given ten years of freedom while her family searches for her mother to help break this curse, but she was left in the dark for most of this time, unaware of her magical potential and the looming deadline.

When she does discover it, she dives headfirst into the world, hellbent finding her mother and saving them both. She was such an interesting character to explore, curious and fearless in her endeavor. The premise of infinite worlds and god-like beings accessible by magical keys isn’t necessarily unique, but again the almost horror like elements added to their underbelly was so compelling. She makes allies along the way, Penelope’s apprentice Aleksander at the forefront of this, and with their help, she digs deep into the mysteries of the key holders and sheds light on some of their darkest secrets, ones that choose to willfully ignore to maintain that illusion of mystical splendor.

My biggest qualms were the timeline, which I struggled occasionally to wrap my head around, as well as the lack of real conclusion to the disappearance of Violet’s mother. I did enjoy the ending, but feel like this story feels just slightly unresolved leaving those questions hanging open. I don’t need everything answered, because I do appreciate the idea that these other worlds are unfathomable for mortals, but I think Violet herself deserved some closure for the years of abandonment she suffered through.

This made my heart ache in such a special way 🥹😭

The tension, the longing, the angst, the growth. Sierra MF Simone, you’ve done it again!!! Aiden Bell is my favorite Bell brother, no doubts about it. Watching him struggle with his faith and mental health was so raw and inspiring. I feel broken wide open. But also… this book was so goddamn horny. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE A COLD SHOWER SEVERAL TIMES FFS.

Impeccable. Spectacular. Phenomenal. This rivals Salt Kiss for my favorite. Don’t make me choose y’all because if it came down to it, I would yeet myself into the sun before coming to a decision ✋🏼
