A thoroughly enjoyable read with a detestable and delusional protagonist. Masterfully crafted and impossible to put down, Yellowface is a read I’ll be stewing over for quite some time.

I feel as though I know Selin in the same way that I know a former version of myself. That feeling made this journey oddly nostalgic.

I revisited this today and am still in awe of how Shire can take such heavy pain and make of it something so poignant and beautiful.

There are no words in the English language to convey how this book moved me, so I will allow the stars to speak them for me.
Severance by Ling Ma

I love the way that Ling Ma writes and how she’s reinvented a familiar theme in such a magnetic way. This was a real pleasure to read.

Masterfully written. A raw and real chaotic mess of lives intertwined and touched by trauma. Incredible work.

The Peace: A Warrior's Journey by Roméo Dallaire
4.0
An incredibly insightful and increasingly relevant commentary on our turbulent times, M. Dallaire offers the compassionate, humane, and necessary solutions our world desperately needs to bring us into a new age of peace. We need more leaders like him in this world.
The Clothing of Books by Jhumpa Lahiri

What an interesting little read featuring an intimate perspective on how we dress our books and a critical commentary on the publishing industry’s emphasis on sales rather than the accurate portrayal of the author’s heart and intended message.
