Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby

Omg this book! 😢 I don't have words. The one-liners in this one were great! The story was heartbreaking 💔 a twist here and a twist there, plus good old-fashioned revenge. This one will stay with me for a while.

I have no idea what to say about this one. I think had I read it it may have been 5 ⭐️ but listening to it I found parts confusing. I wasn't sure if the voices were in her head or they were people speaking to her at times. That being said I also feel like that was part of it, to be confused. It's written in a first person narrative so my confusion felt like Mary's confusion also.
I enjoyed it, I was expecting gruesome and scary, I definitely got gruesome. This one isn't going to be for everyone and although the narrator did a great job I recommend reading it over listening.
Don't skip the authors note at the beginning and the afterward, read by the author on the audio. I enjoyed hearing about his personal experiences.

I enjoyed this book but it wasn't my favorite. There are so many characters that it gets confusing at time and I had to flip back to remind myself who was who more than once.
I read this one quickly I got into it but with 20 or 30 pages left and no reveal on the murderer I was beginning to worry about how it would wrap up. With 3 obviously suspects from the beginning and an unreliable narrators/witness it was lie after lie that began to unfold. I prefer a thriller or mystery that you can put the pieces together as you go but trying to pick apart lies didn't do it for me...
Although I feel like I enjoyed this one as I read it, in the end I feel disappointed with how it came together.

This was a full cast audiobook. It was like listening to a play with the background sounds. I really enjoyed it, the story had twists and left you wondering whodunnit throughout.
Really fun audio, highly recommend. If only all audiobooks could be this immersive.

I liked this one but I didn't love it like I loved Icebreaker.
Russ is adorable! But also, his we can't break the rules attitude is boarding annoying.
There is conflict built in when it wasn't necessary. The family drama felt unrealistic and am I wrong or did the drama between Aurora and her dad not get resolved? Glad she had her moment but that's it not follow up?
I loved the found family feel of Russ, Aurora, Emilia and Xander, it made me wish I had gone to camp as a kid. The added fun of repeat characters from Icebreaker was fun.

I adored this book. I love a strong FMC and this book has exactly that.
At first it felt very much like a twisted Beauty and the Beast but it also reminded me The Deathly Hallows in a way.
I hope this story continues, it is set up as a series and I can't wait to see where the story goes.
This was a fun mix of magical elements, magical creatures and monsters. I adore a found family story and characters discovering their power.
This has the same vibes as similar books but I was unbothered by the similarities to other stories. The way magical elements were introduced never left me confused, the explanations feeling natural.

I listened to this one on Audible. The Narrator was A+.
The mystery of this story grabbed my attention immediately. You just don't know who to believe everyone has something to hide and it felt like everyone was lying constantly. Did young Rose witness a terrible accident or was it murder? Is Rose's family covering up that she is a troubled child?
There are so many questions but everything is resolved in the end dotting all the i's and crossing all the t's.
I really enjoyed this story.

I found this one to be a bit confusing in the beginning. All the mixed media, very different format from a typical murder mystery. It felt like a lot going on with a bunch of characters. How was I going to keep everything straight. Once I let that all go and just read the book, I found it much more enjoyable when I wasn’t worried about what I might miss or who was saying what.
I found the mystery itself to be predictable but the journey to get there was full of twists. The text messages, voice messages and newspaper clippings made you really feel involved in the mystery.
I'm glad I stuck with this one, a very different and fun read.

I enjoyed this series more than expected. Each one stands on its own but has overlapping characters. Back stories are explained enough to enjoyed each as a stand alone.
The characters all have complex relationships with each other and with their parents adding a layer to the stories.
Genevieve and Evan aren't my favorite couple of this series but the are cute trying to figure out how to be together without being a hot mess.

I really liked this one. The back and forth timeline, the short chapters, the added POV. But as soon as it all came together it was a big old WTF.
You could see a twist coming a mile away but this twist... it's a no for me.
