Excellent book. It was different from the movie version. Janine didn't even have a big fight scene at the end, like in the movie. But I loved the story, and all the characters were super interesting. I'm excited to continue the series

Really good book. There were some parts that had me eye rolling. But overall, really enjoyed it and want to read the rest of the series.

There are not enough words to describe how bad this book is. I can not rate it above a 1 because she copied Hunger Games so much that it annoyed me. The only good part about the book was Kai. He is my favorite male character, probably ever. In reality, this book is a 3, but because of the blatant plagiarism and the terrible writing, it is a 1. If you like a slow burn...this is the turtle based romance for you. Over 400 pages before the briefest kiss. Actually hurt me to read it. Physical pain. It was so awkward and cringe. Why is Paedyn just the most God-awful annoying person ever? Please shut up, Pae. I was rooting for her death every chance I got. Never liked her. Lauren kept putting characters I barely knew in danger expecting me to care..spoiler alert...I didn't care at all. You need me to connect with characters for me to care about them, sweetie. Ughhhh only read this for Kai. I did order the second book because it ended on a cliffhanger, and I need to know how it ends. Please for the love of God be better than this mess.

DNF at 32%. Read part 1 and I knew I was gonna DNF as soon as "magic cum" was mentioned. Absolute yikes.
