What an ending! The last chapter sealed the 5 star rating for me. Loved Jessica, Norah, and Alicia - particularly Norah. Haven't had a book I couldn't put down for a while and this was a real page turner. I'll definitely look for more by Sally Hepworth. It's quite dark in places so I recommend checking the trigger warnings, especially if you’ve ever been in the foster care.

A novel about a child star who was abused by the people she trusted. I felt it was a little slow in places, and took me a while to get through, but I needed resolution. Enjoyable overall.

A story of a missing girl, and how that affects the life of her sister. I enjoying the different characters telling their point of view, to build a full picture of the events that unfold. Great relationships throughout, and I was very happy with the ending.

A story of toxic relationships, of best friends who are a little too involved in each others lives. It's rather dark in places, with some shocking revelations. I didn't warm to the characters, but I'm not sure you're meant to. It's well written with an intriguing plot.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I liked following the difficult characters, learning about their stories and struggles, and seeing their worlds tie together. I have mixed feeling on the ending, but overall a great book.

An enjoyable short read. I enjoyed the writing style, mixing fairy tale and fantasy. It could have been a longer book, with more detail and depth, but I enjoy the story and thought it ended well.

This book had so much promise and potential, and I really fought through to finish it, hoping it would somehow get better. But it didn't. Every aspect was disappointing. For a book centered on the relationship between two women, it lacked depth of emotion. The villain wasn't even given a name. The writing was disappointing, giving more depth to croissants than the characters.

This was an interesting read. I was somewhat bored at places, as I found certain parts quite repetitive and overdrawn, but I enjoyed the ending.

Not my favourite book of the year, but it was decent. I listened to the audiobook version - great  narrator.
