“I’m gonna make it a season worth writing about.”
“Mmm, there’s gotta be something dirty I can dig up on you.”
“That’s my girl.”

Funny, cute, and spicy sports romance featuring a minotaur and other mythical / magical creatures.

I enjoyed the relationship development and chemistry between the main characters, Cassie and Elliott. I liked how their families and family drama were also part of the story.

The plot itself started great, but towards the end, in my opinion, there was too much going on and too many storylines for a book this short. Some of the conflicts felt rushed and wrapped up too quickly for my liking. I’m also not a fan of the miscommunication trope.

Overall, I enjoy Lizzie’s writing style and her ability to bring humor to her books.

“It had to be done, but I’ll spend the rest of our existence making it up to you.”
“Oh, do you not want another magic to be able to save us? You want to be the hero?”
“Sometimes the symbol of power is enough.”
“You’re not losing me. You’ll never be able to be rid of me.”
“Would you believe me if I told you this was the best possible outcome?”

Great finale to a series. Picks up right where the previous book, Tangled Power, ended.

I I enjoyed the flashbacks and dual timeline, and in my opinion, both brought depth to the story and helped to better understand what was going on.

I’ve enjoyed how the characters have grown throughout the series and how they’ve been able to overcome their differences to work together.

Overall, a great conclusion to Rose and Luc’s story.

“One man, one child, one king… can alter the outcome of entire worlds.”
“Given the choice between death and immortality, most mortals would choose to be divine.”
“The gods don’t forget, and they don’t forgive.”
“I refuse to be the reason for your stupidity!”
“We are in a holy city and all I can think about is doing something unholy to you.”
“Are you trying to seduce me or negotiate with me?”

This book was absolutely amazing! Wild, emotional ride in the best possible way.

The book picks up right where the previous one, Of Sand & Silk, ended and continues to follow the familiar characters from the first book.

The book is told in multiple POVs, and I think that the multi-POV storytelling worked well for the plot, especially since all the main characters weren’t always in the same place.

There was a lot happening and multiple plot twists I didn’t see coming. This book answered multiple questions I had after reading the first book, and a lot of the answers were truly surprising.

There were multiple parts that made me laugh, and also a few parts that made me tear up. A few parts even made me want to scream at certain characters. The world-building and character development were, once again, well written, and I enjoyed the relationship and friendship development between different characters.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys fantasy romance with beautifully written world-building, complex characters, deities, magic, political intrigue, and a storyline that will keep you hooked from the first pages.

I can’t wait to read more!

“Her body calls to my most primal nature in every way.”
“Fuck, she is perfect for me. For us. She just doesn’t know it yet.”
“What if I told you that you could have a chance with her. Would you take it!”
“Tonight changes everything for all of us.”

Short, spicy MFMM novella featuring masked men, primal play, forced proximity, and brother’s best friends.

This book was so good! I loved the dynamic between the characters and how their relationships evolved from just friends and step-siblings to something more. And of course, I’m a sucker for masked MMCs and a good chase through the forest.

The multi-POV storytelling worked well for the plot, and it was great to see some scenes from two different perspectives.

I would love to read more about these characters in the future.

“You’ve been living in those romance books of yours for too long.”
“Funny, I’m not in the mood for a Cinderella retelling.”
“Chambermaids cannot be friends with Kings.”
“You don’t have to have all the answers. You just need to live for today.”

I loved the first book in the series, The Veiled Heir, and it was nice to read about some of the events from that book from a different perspective.

The Forbidden King takes place at the same time as The Veiled Heir, but it focuses on King Cathan and Reneah. I enjoyed their relationship development and learning more about the mate bonds.

I feel like this book is a great addition to the series, and I can’t wait to read more.

“Why is it we always crave something when we know it’s forbidden?”
“Did. Someone. Hurt. You?”
“If you’re a good girl and take your punishment, I’ll make sure you’re rewarded.”
“You might be the villain in everyone else’s story, but that makes you my hero.”

Dark mafia romance with tropes like brother’s best friend, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, slow burn and rival families.

Both Marcus and Chloe were intriguing characters, and I loved their banter and chemistry. It was nice to see their relationship development throughout the story, and also to see them both grow as characters individually. Chloe was a strong and fierce character with a traumatic, difficult past. I loved seeing how she was able to overcome and heal on her own, but also with Marcus’s help.

The side characters were also interesting, and I can’t wait to read more about Jake and Miles. I would love to learn more about Jake’s story and recovery.

The dual-POV storytelling worked well for the plot, and I was equally invested in both of the main characters’ POVs.

The writing style was immersive and made me feel like I was in the middle of the action. The plot kept me hooked, and it was hard to put the book down.

This was my first book by the author, but it won’t be the last. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Rivals of Blackthorn series.

“If looks could kill, I’d already be dead.”
“How does spending eternity with the devil sound to you?”
“When the sun goes down, our game begins.”
“She has no idea that every step she takes is leading her straight to me. My sweet doe thinks she’s in control.”
“Run. One hour left, my sweet doe. Make it count.”
“This is my darkest desire come to life.”

Melissa & Dana did it again, this book is amazing! Perfect short & spicy dark Christmas novella.

Loved learning more about Sloan and can’t wait to read more about her in the future. And who doesn’t love a good chase with nice, spicy rewards? The plot twist took me by surprise, and the spice was spicing. Couldn’t put the book down.

Ending with that cliffhanger was pure evil, and I honestly can’t wait to read more, and see Sloan’s reaction to her gift.

Fallen omega by Brooke Harper

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. The beginning seemed really promising but the pacing made it difficult for me to both get into the story and focus on what was going on.

The heat lasted only for a day, or less than a day. One of the alphas was like I’m not going to bite her but in the next scene she has been bitten?

Usually I enjoy omegaverse, but this one was just confusing and cringe.

The blurb sounded interesting, but unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. Half the time I was confused by who the characters were and who was related to whom.

The plot had potential but in my opinion would have benefited from more work and editing. Now everything happened way too fast for my liking, and there wasn’t enough buildup for anything. Also, the revelation at the end felt like a cheap, easy way to excuse the MMC’s behavior.

Additionally, this was marketed as a biker / motorcycle club story, but the whole motorcycle club aspect wasn’t really a part of the story, other than being mentioned in passing.

Like the blurb says, this felt like a mixture of Harry Potter, Fourth Wing, Zodiac Academy, and Arthurian legends, but not necessarily in a good way. I personally felt like there was too much going on, but nothing really made sense.

Sounded interesting and I really wanted to like this, but unfortunately it wasn’t for me. The first few chapters were promising, but after that I just couldn’t get into the story.
