I cant believe I read this book in one day - what a happy accident. I was truly BEAMING throughout this read. I’ve enjoyed each of Liz’s books in this series. They feel a step removed from mainstream contemporary romance, in the best way. It is evident that one of her goals in writing is that the relationships she writes about need a focus on healthy boundaries and mutual respect. And then of course weave in the drama, no, humanity.

Obviously I ate this one up. I am baseball-obsessed and a former-softball player so the MLB elements had me singing. And the multiple layers and iterations of the priority of family had me teary-eyed. One page I was crying and the next I could not stop laughing. Kai and Miller were so easy for me to deeply relate to. I so deeply felt like I went on a little vacation to another life while reading this. I know this book won’t be for everyone but, oh, did it fill this heart.

I really enjoyed the politics of this one :) Kinda over the reincarnation trope but whatever!

Hoof! What an original story :) I really enjoyed this book! This book is Vampires meets High Society filled with stolen glances, dance cards, pining, political marriages, twists, and...dhemons! Enna did a phenomenal job with this one and I am so thankful to have read this :)

I went into this book blind and it left me WRECKED. I was not expecting to be in a state of constant chest pain wondering what the heck was going to happen. I am pacing restlessly for the sequel to come out. I am so glad that this is a duology because I don't know that I could emotionally handle more than that!

The writing is EXQUISTIE, the characters are loveable, and the plot is MOVING. This book is definitely worth all the hype and I am so glad that I was influenced.
