A very soft and predictable thriller that I couldn’t put down! I was shocked by the epilogue.

Would recommend with some caveats/TW

This book was the first that sucked me in over the past few weeks! I immediately wanted to know everything that was going to happen with these characters, especially Bjorn.

A Fate Inked in Blood follows Freya who lives as a fishwife and believes that being a Viking Warrior is in her blood. This is a Norse-inspired world filled with Gods, raids, powers, rituals, and tension! The beginning has a great hook, the pacing is great, the atmosphere is vivid, and the world is palatable. Freya and her love interest are INTO each other and have…some teenager energy when it comes to their longings.

Writing style was not for me. The third person POV switched between the FMC and MMC within the same scene without break, formatting, or any indication. This happened multiple times in the first two chapters and my brain was working overtime to keep up.

The vibes are immaculate. Truly - this is a book to get lost in.✨

I really enjoyed this book! I am actually hoping to reread it because I was a little mentally funky so I couldn’t fully absorb it which has everything to do w me and nothing to do with the book. Future self please re read asap.

This duology has been lingering in my mind and I am obsessed. Love love love. It is unique, immersive, and unpredictable. A true masterpiece.

The pace is not quick which is why it took me a while to feel invested. By the end, I did feel completely immersed in the world - just as the dense mist of this world is so encompassing. The romance is definitely a part of the plot but I would say this is more romantic fantasy than fantasy romance. I do hear and hold that book two feels disjointed from book one. However, it did not take away from my personal enjoyment. This series also has morally gray elements which I always enjoy. I highly recommend this series, with the major warning of, it is not fast paced…it is a lovely stroll.
