This book consumed my headspace and my heart. I am absolutely in love with Allie and Hudson.
Amidst forbidden love and fake dating, Allie and Hudson find themselves in the midst of very MESSY family dynamics. Both have chased high stakes careers as a professional ballerina and a rescue swimmer, running from a young love that haunts them 10 years later. Will they, won’t they? Real or not real? When will 💩 hit the fan? All of the tension the whole book.
The topics addressed in this book are not easy. And while I didn’t always agree with the decisions that the chrachters made, that’s the beauty of this story - it’s human. I also trust that Rebecca has the authority to address a situation like this based off of elements of her personal life that she has shared. I love this story so much and…in Rebecca we trust.
Be kind to your mind and check some TW or I can provide.✨

To Avenge a Fallen Star is an absolutely immersive and fantastic debut! Qilanna knocked it out of the park. I cannot wait for book two.
Humans have fled Earth and currently reside within a new solar system. While most live a better life, some reside within a city full of injustice, crime, and poor living conditions. Their only way out? To survive deadly trials and serve in the military. Add in romance, revenge, a rebellion, a morally gray cast of characters and you have To Avenge a Fallen Star.
UGH what can I even say? I was hooked within the first three chapters and could not put this story down. The plot is fast-paced so be prepared, a lot happens in the first book. I would describe this story as a palatable sci-fi with high stakes and a "I would burn it all for you" romance. Excuse me while I politely but impatiently wait for more from Qilanna!!!
